You could be forgiven for thinking that a Festival was held at Manjushri KMC last weekend. 500 people, in-person and online, attended a special course with Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU, at which she granted the Bodhisattva vow and explained how we can unify our daily life with the Bodhisattva's way of life.
What an extraordinary moment it was when a capacity audience in the Temple joined together to promise to make the Bodhisattva vow part of their daily life! They then consolidated that promise with a brief retreat led by Gen Rabten.
A Festival in everything but name!
This was the first time for over two years there has been a Kadampa gathering of such magnitude, and it carried all the magic of a Festival. Perhaps we have forgotten the sheer joy and vibrancy that is generated when a large number of the Kadampa family gather, but it all came back this weekend!
And we could not help but think ahead to June when the entire international Kadampa Family will gather with Gen-la Dekyong for the opening of the Sixth Kadampa Temple for World Peace and the 2022 Spring Festival. See you there!
