Day 9 ~ meeting mother tara

Through the inconceivable kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, today we have the great good fortune to begin the second week of the 2020 Summer Festival.

The day begins with two meditations guided by Gen Rabten at Manjushri KMC.

Then this afternoon, at 16.00 UK time, we will receive the empowerment of Buddha Green Tara from Gen-la Kelsang Jampa at IKRC Grand Canyon in Arizona.

How wonderful!

Looking Inside our Heart

who is tara? where is tara?

Tara is a female Buddha, a manifestation of the ultimate wisdom of all the Buddhas. She is our common mother, our Holy Mother, also known as the ‘Mother of the Conquerors’.

When we are young we turn to our worldly mother for help. She protects u s from immediate dangers, provides us with all our temporal needs, and guides and encourages us in our learning and personal development.

Similarly, during our spiritual growth we need to turn to our Holy Mother, Tara, for refuge. She protects us from all internal and external dangers, she provides us with all the necessary conditions for our spiritual training, and she guides us and inspires us with her blessings as we progress along the spiritual path. Indeed anyone who helps us could be an emanation of Tara.

Kadampa Buddhists sincerely rely upon Arya Tara because she promised Atisha that she would take special care of Kadampa practitioners in the future.

Since she is a manifestation of the completely purified wind element, Tara is able to help us very quickly. Temporarily Tara saves us from the dangers of rebirth in the three lower realms, and ultimately she saves us from the dangers of samsara and solitary peace.

If we rely upon her with strong faith she will protect us from all obstacles and fulfil all our wishes.

Summer Festival

Really enjoying the Summer Festival in front of my shrine, in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.  Hoping to be there in person next year!

Dear Festival Team,

At Tara KBC Leipzig/Germany we are engaging in the whole Festival together.

We’ve prepared beautiful shrines and enjoy a powerful festival due to the great kindness and blessings of our most precious spiritual guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

In the breaks we share our experiences, having lunch or dinner together and enjoy watching the videos and pictures from our Kadampa Family.

Even though we miss Manjushri and being together with everyone, we can highly recommend taking part in the Festival in this way or together with Sangha friends.

Our experience is, that if you make time for the Festival and take part as much as you can, it’s just as powerful as if you were really there.

Much love.

What a wonderful online summer festival!

We are all connected to each other, externally with the internet, and internally with the heart!

Happy festival to the entire international Kadampa community!

Thank you NKT organizers for making this online festival so special!

It’s truly inspiring to have such an experienced meditation master, Gen Losang, guiding our meditation retreat during the first week.

Modern technology helps us to feel very close to our wonderful teachers and the international community while being physically isolated in our home.

I particularly enjoy looking at the snapshots and videos between sessions. They show that our wish for everyone to find pure happiness can be fulfilled!

Hello from Western Canada Sangha.

One of the aspects I love about Summer Festival is the opportunity it provides to meet with my Sangha friends in between sessions and share how the teachings moved us.

This year, considering we can't all meet together in person, we decided to share a virtual tea in between sessions.

It was so lovely!

Everyone had a chance to share their experience of the teachings and how lucky and grateful we feel to have met Kadam Dharma.

There was such joy, love and heartfelt sharing in that room!

We want to say thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make these teachings reach our homes so easily, to the Teachers and to Geshe-la for making our life so incredibly meaningful.

Thank you!

with love and gratitude

Thoughts on Summer Festival Teachings

Gen-la Dekyong exudes love and faith in her teachings. I feel as though she is sitting in my room in front of me teaching me Dharma.

I felt my heart and mind shift with every single word, and blessings were emanating from her body, speech and mind.

She is really excited to be giving Dharma to the world. 'We are confusing seeking worldly pleasures with seeking happiness". "We are happy with whatever happens". Beautiful.

I suddenly saw all the Buddhas in front of me saying that 900 + years of teachings can't be wrong. I realised that all the teachings were true.

Thank you Gen-la Dekyong. Thank you Geshe-la. Thank you Buddha.

Deeply rejoicing

From the depth of my heart, I rejoice in all the great teachings we have !

When i think about this precious opportunity we have to hear, contemplate, meditate again and again this wisdom nectar, I feel blessed.

Often we can hear Gen-la saying « How kind is our precious root Guru ». Until now, it was nice to listen to, but as it began to touch my heart, I could see why she is so moved.

In my entire life, how many people wanted my happiness ? Who truly acted to give me that happiness ?

Even my mother who cherishes me more than everyone can’t do that, because she has her own struggles.

When I was a teenager and a young adult, I couldn’t understand this, so I was angry and I felt very alone. Nobody, not even my friends were able to help me.

But now, I have found someone who has dedicated his entire life to giving me joy, love and wisdom, because he succeeded in filling his mind with all those excellent qualities.
Now, I begin to understand that I wish to share this precious jewel with anyone who wants it.
