In Modern Buddhism, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche explains that Kadampas sincerely rely upon Arya Tara because she promised Atisha that she would take special care of Kadampa practitioners in the future.

On June 8, Tara Day, Kadampas around the world joined in an international online puja offering heartfelt praises and requests to the Tara, the Blessed Mother.

From our hearts we thank Mother Tara for her care and protection and deeply request her to protect all the beings in this world from all fears and dangers, and especially from disease and all forms of conflict.
