A gateway to enlightenment on the highway to hell!

Modern Buddhism at its finest! This weekend KMC Perth took part in the local Perth Festival, which on the last day organised a street party along 10km length of highway that runs right past the center.

Thousands of people attended from all over Australia and around the world to remember a local hero Bon Scott, the former lead singer of the AC/DC who died 40 years ago. The day's event was called 'Highway to Hell' after a famous AC/DC song.

Highway to enlightenment
KMC Perth arranged a 'Highway to Enlightenment' event and opened their doors to welcome people to participate in free taster meditations, a tour of the Buddhist shrine, children's activities, face painting and delicious home made goodies.

Meanwhile outside among an ever increasing crowd our Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Ani set a beautiful scene for later events by guiding a clarity meditation followed by a group recitation of the Buddha of Compassions mantra.

As the evening unfolded with the sounds of local bands filling the air everyone gathered outside the Centre!
