WHAT'S ON THE TRUCK?
A truck came to Manjushri KMC today and left bearing four large pallets.
Shipped by Tharpa Publications the pallets were destined for the US and Australia.
2,000 kilograms (2 tonnes) of books and other Dharma items - 12,000 in total - are on their way across the globe.
Although for most people four pallets from among the billions being transported around the world each day are of little or no consequence, for Kadampas they have huge significance.
For they symbolise the International Kadampa Buddhist Union (IKBU) in action - a global network of people enjoying and sharing the wisdom of modern Kadampa Buddhism. The quantity of items shipped and the geographical reach of the shipment illustrate the depth and spread of IKBU.
Every single word of Dharma in these books has arisen from the holy mind of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. The written words themselves are visible representations of his speech. His actual speech is the immaculate words that arise from his profound wisdom.
There is nothing more precious than the speech of the Spiritual Guide. How fortunate we are that he has presented it to us in the form of these precious books and made them available to everyone throughout the world.
