MODERN KADAMPA BUDDHISM IN JAPAN

This weekend saw the opening of KMC Tokyo and the establishing of a firm foundation for Kadam Dharma in Japan.

Through the power of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche’s vision and intention, a property has been acquired and renovated and a qualified Kadampa shrine installed containing precious statues prepared by the Kadampa Art Studio in the UK.

Venerable Geshe-la has appointed Gen Kelsang Shindro as the Resident Teacher and prepared a teaching and meditation programme for the center

HERUKA DAY OPENING CEREMONY
The center was opened on January 25, Heruka Day, by Gen Kelsang Rabten, who is the National Spiritual Director for the area. The following day, Gen Rabten gave a day course entitled ‘Create the Life you want’.

It was a very joyful and meaningful weekend, and a very auspicious start for the new center.

For more information on the center and its programme visit the center's website.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS
After a long period of preparation, the opening ceremony of KMC Tokyo is finally here!

One of the fortunate people who attended the ceremony summed up their experience as follows:

‘It was such a special day! I could feel the center becoming full of blessings and I know now that something is definitely going to happen from here.’

Then, the next day we enjoyed a powerful day course with Gen Rabten. People relished the deep teachings, and we care left with a feeling of joy, hope and harmony in the center. How wonderful!

Thank you so much Venerable Geshe-la for this great good fortune!
