Travelling the globe for Kadam Dharma

Hard on the heels of her extraordinary empowerments and teachings at the Summer Festival, Gen-la Dekyong’s trip to Switzerland, Germany and Australia is a powerful illustration of how hard this precious Teacher works to spread Kadam Dharma throughout the modern world.

On the last leg of her tour, in Brisbane, Gen-la opened the new City Temple, taught an amazing weekend course and rounded off her trip to with a public talk at the new center.

People attended these events from all over Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Manila.

The weekend course entitled ‘May I Become Just Like You’ was a commentary to the Request to the Lord of all Lineages prayer. Gen-la explained the meaning of each verse and strongly encouraged us to engage in the practice completely free from distractions.

She reminded us of Venerable Geshe-la’s teaching that our mind is like the sky and our Dharma practice like the sun. Our distractions are like clouds (in a British sky, not a Brisbane sky) that completely cover our mind and prevent the sun of our Dharma practice from functioning. For this reason we need to put great effort into overcoming distractions if we are to practice sincerely and effectively.
