Recently the sangha at the newly emerging Kadampa center in Israel gathered for their third out-of-town retreat in a peaceful rural location. Their Teacher Daniel Koren guided meditations on the practice of patience as presented by Shantideva based on Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche’s book ‘Meaningful to Behold’.
With its wonderful climate and beautiful scenery Australia offers many peaceful outdoor locations for practicing meditation. And from time to time the Australian Kadampa centers take full advantage of it.
Here we feature two recent events in the great outdoors
Around 200 people gathered at Phoenix Art Museum this week for a transformative evening with Gen-la Kelsang Jampa, Resident Teacher at IKRC Grand Canyon and Deputy Spiritual Director of NKT. Gen-la shared practical advice from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche in the teaching: “If you want to be happy, you need to develop a peaceful mind; if you want to make others happy, you need to cherish them.”
Recently three centers in France hosted events in which the teachers gave empowerments and commentaries.
On his way to the Florida Dharma Celebration Kadam Morten stopped by Kadampa Meditation Center Fort Lauderdale and gave a talk to 77 happy attendees. Many people stayed after the talk to enjoy food and conversation.
This weekend’s course with General Spiritual Director – Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong and retreat with National Spiritual Director Kadam Bridget Heyes has been a “wonderful and magical” experience.
Last weekend Kailash International Kadampa Retreat Centre organised a weekend retreat where participants learned different breathing meditation techniques that help them to calm their mind in stressful situations.
On Saturday morning, the IKRC Grand Canyon had the regular Free Pancake Breakfast & Open House. Over 90 people, from all over Northern Arizona came to see the 5th Kadampa World Peace Temple, meet the growing community, enjoy some pancakes and learn about inner peace.
This weekend the Temple for World Peace at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre is filled wall to wall with hundreds of people from the UK and beyond attending Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong’s course on emptiness.
Last week Kadampa Meditation Centre Monterrey celebrated their annual visit of National Spiritual Director, Gen Kelsang Sangden, with two precious events – a public talk at MARCO museum, an iconic venue in Monterrey city center and an urban retreat that culminated with a party for the 14th anniversary of the center.
