Buddhist Art Course at Nagarjuna KMC Thornby Hall, UK
During a week-long course at Nagarjuna KMC, Thornby Hall in UK, participants had the opportunity to learn from the internationally renowned NKT Buddhist artist, Kadam Chris Heyes. The week was filled with peaceful and creative energy. Participants had the option to stay in beautiful en-suite accommodation offered by the center and enjoy woodland walks, as well as social time in the World Peace Cafe between sessions.
A Tour of Cornwall in the UK
Recently Kadam Bridget gave an inspiring public talk to almost 60 people in the beautiful Cornish town of Truro on ‘How to Develop a Peaceful Mind’. This was the culmination of the ‘Cornwall Dharma Tour 2023’, where newly appointed Resident Teacher, Kelsang Yonchen, has taught a series of half day courses around the county in various towns
Purifying with Buddha Vajrasattva
The practice of Purification is one of the four great preliminary guides. The practice of Meditation and Recitation of Buddha Vajrasattva is a powerful method for purifying our mind and actions. Recently KMC Montpellier in France, KMC Valencia in Spain and Vajrapani KBC in South Africa engaged in this wonderful purification practice, organising retreats at their centres.
Requesting Swift Protection in Argentina
Arya Tara, the manifestation of the ultimate wisdom of all the Buddhas is one of the main Kadampa Deities known for her swiftness in helping. In recent days, the two main centers in Argentina, KMC Argentina and KMC Cordoba, enjoyed engaging in retreats of Green Tara.
December Empowerments in Summer and Winter
December saw empowerments in all corners of the globe, from South Africa and New Zealand where it is summertime to wintery Switzerland. Regardless of the season, students enjoyed the warmth of Buddha’s blessings coming into their lives.
KMC Philadelphia Welcomes New Statues form Kadampa Art Studio
KMC Philadelphia’s new commercial space received qualified Buddha statues from the Kadampa Art Studio in the UK. With the new shrine, the space became even more beautiful and welcoming. Shortly after this, guest Teacher Gen Demo, Resident Teacher at KMC Washington DC, gave the empowerment of Buddha Maitreya, the first in-person empowerment in three years.
Qualified Retreats for the Modern World
Through contemplating and meditating on the meaning of Buddhist teachings, we gain access to deeper states of peace. Retreats at Kailash IRC in Switzerland, KMC Georgia and KMC North Carolina in the US and Lamrim KBC Lyon in France offered space to reflect and develop new, beneficial ways to look at our lives.
French Dharma Celebration 2023
For the French Dharma Celebration 2023 people from all over France gathered in person and online. It was such a joy to meet in our hearts at KMC France.
Upcoming Three Festivals to Celebrate
In late December and early January, three special events will be led by Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang, the National Spiritual Director of Austria, Switzerland, Italy and South Africa. National Festivals in Hong Kong, Melbourn in Australia, and Wellington in New Zealand are fast approaching.
