White Tara Empowerment with Gen-la Jampa in Los Angeles
Over the weekend, more than 150 people gathered at Kadampa Meditation Center Los Angeles for the precious White Tara empowerment, granted by Gen-la Kelsang Jampa, together with inspiring teachings on the Four Seals.
During this very special event, participants received the powerful blessings of Buddha White Tara, the female Buddha associated with long life, wisdom, and good fortune. In his teachings, Gen-la reminded everyone how precious it is to have a human life with the supportive conditions needed to make genuine progress on the spiritual path.
Gen-la also encouraged practitioners to gather the causes for attaining a pure vajra body and a long life, so that they may continue benefiting others and deepening their spiritual realizations.
The weekend was filled with blessings, inspiration, and a warm sense of community, leaving participants deeply grateful for the opportunity to receive these precious teachings and empowerment.
It was truly a weekend full of blessings, inspiration, and a beautiful sense of community and meaning.
Mid-Atlantic US Dharma Celebration at KMC Maryland
The Healing Power of Compassion was the overarching theme of this year’s Mid-Atlantic Dharma Celebration, held in Baltimore, Maryland. The weekend began with an introductory talk by Kadam Michelle Gauthier, Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Washington DC. Each morning also began with a peaceful meditation session led by John Baker, Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Philadelphia.
On Saturday, Kadam Morten Clausen granted the empowerment of Buddha Avalokiteshvara and shared inspiring teachings on how our compassionate mind has the power to protect us from suffering. He explained that as we develop the universal compassion of an enlightened being, we gradually gain the real ability to protect all living beings.
Practitioners from the five Mid-Atlantic Kadampa centers enjoyed spending meaningful time together—discussing the teachings, volunteering, and reconnecting with Sangha friends. It was a joyful and inspiring weekend, filled with blessings, learning, and a warm sense of Kadampa community.
