Dorje Shugden Close Retreat with Gen-la Dekyong

This January, attendees of close retreat at the Mother Center were blessed with the extraordinary opportunity to enter a month-long Dorje Shugden Close Retreat, guided by our Resident Teacher, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong. As Gen-la’s final close retreat at Manjushri KMC, the month unfolded as something deeply special and profoundly powerful.

Over the course of the month, practitioners immersed themselves in deep meditation, mantra recitation, and heartfelt prayers, receiving guidance, blessings, and support at every stage. The retreat concluded with a magical Vajradaka Burning Offering Puja and the Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, from his faithful disciples, allowing us to express our deepest gratitude to Geshe-la for this precious opportunity that brings us directly closer to enlightenment.

This retreat offered not only profound teachings, but also a rare opportunity to cultivate a direct, personal connection with Guru Dorje Shugden, strengthened by the spiritual power of practicing together in a qualified retreat environment. It was an extraordinary month in which we were able to remove obstacles, plant virtuous seeds, and cultivate strong faith, concentration, and a heartfelt connection with the Guru.

The retreaters had a wonderful opportunity to attend Feast of Great Bliss puja on Vajrayogini and Heruka Days in the Kadampa Temple for World Peace. The space reverberated with the sound of damarus and bells, and the Temple was filled with the blessings of the dakas and dakinis!

We rejoice in this incredible opportunity to protect and help flourish the lineage of Je Tsongkhapa, given to us by Venerable Geshe-la, while practicing under the guidance of Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong. We sincerely hope that everyone may have the opportunity to receive, meditate on, and practice the precious teachings of Kadam Dharma.
