Preparations nearly complete – Summer Festival 2026
Jul 22, 2026
January 25 is a special day in the Kadampa calendar - it is Heruka Day. Heruka is Buddha's mind of compassion manifested as form. On this day, Kadampa centers worldwide celebrate by organizing community events and prayers. Here are some activities organized at the mother center and other centers in Spain, Brazil, UK, Portugal, Mexico and the US.
Starting early in the morning, the community and the attendees of the close retreat at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre in the UK enjoyed Feast of Great Bliss puja presided over by Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, the General Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU.
The sound of dozens of damarus and bells reverberated throughout the first Kadampa Temple for World Peace, making it a one-of-a-kind experience. Followed by Offering to the Spiritual Guide prayers held in the Kadampa Temple for World Peace in the evening.
The students of KMC Granada celebrated the special Heruka Day with Offering to the Spiritual Guide, in which we deeply rejoiced in the appearance of the extraordinary teachings of Highest Yoga Tantra that enable us to achieve the ultimate goal of human life in one short lifetime. Thank you, Geshe-la!
A day to renew our commitment to compassion and wisdom, with deep gratitude to Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for showing us the path to transform our mind for the benefit of all.
Through his extraordinary kindness, the teachings of Heruka remain alive in our daily practice, guiding us with clarity, joy, and meaning on the path to liberation and enlightenment.
Kadampa Meditation Center Campinas celebrated Heruka Day. It was a day dedicated to spiritual connection and strengthening our practice. In the morning, we engaged in The Yoga of Buddha Heruka prayers, immersing ourselves in meditation and the profound meaning of this Deity.
We ended the day celebrating with the Sangha and doing Offering to the Spiritual Guide prayers.
It was a day of great harmony, unity, and gratitude for being part of this precious lineage. We thank everyone who was present, either in person or in intention!
On this very special and deeply meaningful day, we came together to share prayers and offerings during the retreat session with tsog. The day was marked by heartfelt faithful practice, deep reflection, and a joyful connection as we practiced together under the guidance of our Teacher.
Behind the scenes, every corner of the Mother Centre is alive with joyful activity as everyone prepares to welcome visitors with warmth and care. All areas are working at full capacity, filled with a spirit of dedication and cheerful effort.
