Australian Festival 2026

The 2026 Australian Festival was held at Kadampa Meditation Centre Australia in the Dandenong Ranges, where Gen Kelsang Sangden granted the Vajrapani empowerment and taught practical methods for transforming adversity into spiritual power through joyful meditation and Dharma practice together.

The Australian Festival was a deeply inspiring and rejuvenating event, and a wonderful way to welcome the new year. Gen Kelsang Sangden granted the blessing empowerment of Buddha Vajrapani, the Buddha of spiritual power, and gave profound yet practical teachings on transforming adverse conditions and learning to embrace life fully and truly without fear. She explained the strong form of compassion of Vajrapani’s wrathful actions and also covered various ways to transform adverse conditions in a manner accessible to all levels of practitioner.

Held at Kadampa Meditation Centre Australia, the Festival brought together Sangha from across Australia for several days of reflection, meditation, and joyful Dharma practice. Set within the peaceful, natural surroundings of the Dandenong Ranges, the atmosphere supported stepping back from ordinary concerns and engaging deeply in contemplation, creating ideal conditions for inner development and spiritual growth.

Gen Sangden explained that genuine spiritual power arises from the mind itself and showed how, by relying on Buddha Vajrapani and sincerely practicing the transformation of adversity into the path, inner strength naturally develops. She emphasized that with this training, life’s challenges can become meaningful and joyful opportunities for growth and a source of deep and lasting happiness.

We sincerely thank Gen Kelsang Sangden for travelling to Australia and for her clear, inspiring guidance, which made this Australian Festival a truly meaningful and uplifting occasion.

We are forever grateful for this great feast of Dharma, arisen from our precious Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, and our dedicated Kadampa Teachers, through whom this precious Dharma is being enjoyed by many people and for many generations to come.
