Special Moments for Kadampa Buddhism in Argentina
May 15, 2026
We are very fortunate at this Festival to be in such a blessed environment, surrounded by exquisitely detailed images of enlightenment that uplift our minds. Even from the back of the Temple, the shrine is radiant. Up close, you can spend a long time taking in the individual Buddhas on the hand-painted thangkas or the carefully crafted statues arranged on the shrine.
Atisha advises us to “Avoid places that disturb your mind, and always remain where your virtues increase.” Coming into the Kadampa World Peace Temple to join the retreat sessions helps us do exactly this—to withdraw our mind from distractions and increase our virtues by focusing on meditation. Gen Sangden guides us on a beautiful journey through the verses, leading to many pure-hearted determinations. In this way, we can enjoy both a peaceful inner and outer environment.
There are also Buddha images throughout the Festival site. In the shop, people select representations to place on their own personal shrines as a focus for their faith and devotion. Newly produced and highly qualified modern Kadampa statues are also available, giving practitioners the opportunity to create a blessed environment for their practice at home.
Statues of Buddhas are a source of profound blessings for the people of this world. Even for non-Buddhists, simply looking at a statue of Buddha will bless their mind and sow the seeds of virtue and future happiness.
When we engage in retreat in such a blessed environment our mind is light and peaceful and it is easier to generate virtuous minds.
“If you practise with great devotion, results will arise immediately, without your having to wait for a long time.”
For the first time, the Tharpa Argentina participated in the Buenos Aires Book Fair, one of the five most important book fairs in the world. Meanwhile, at KMC Cordoba, practitioners received the blessing empowerment of Arya Avalokiteshvara during a joyful and inspiring event.
