Responding to requests from local practitioners, more than forty people gathered in early June for two inspiring public talks in Amsterdam with the center's new Resident Teacher, Kelsang Gyalpo, and Kadampa Teacher, Adrienne Weiss. These well-attended events have led to the establishment of a regular program organized by KMC Netherlands.
Thirty years on from the first teachings being given in Amsterdam, KMC Netherlands will now hold regular activities with its new Resident Teacher, Kelsang Gyalpo.
The public talks, attended by over 40 people, marked an important development for the Dutch Kadampa community, demonstrating a growing interest in Buddhist meditation and practice.
KMC Netherlands now offers:
This expansion of the spiritual program represents a significant step forward for Kadampa Buddhism in the Netherlands, providing structured support for both newcomers and experienced practitioners alike. All events are conducted in English to accommodate Amsterdam's international community.
On Friday, June 6th, over 80 people gathered together at the fabulous Hullabaloo Theatre in Darlington to attend an evening talk and meditation entitled Solutions For Anxiety with guest Teacher, Gen Kelsang Sherab.
We enjoyed a guided breathing meditation to find some relative inner stillness, followed by an entertaining and deeply thought-provoking talk on the root causes of anxiety, along with how to change our worldview to one that aligns more with reality. This topic fitted perfectly with the course announcements given by our Resident Teacher, Gen Chogma, who let us know about an upcoming half-day course entitled Discovering Your Pure Nature.
The café was abuzz with chatter afterwards as people browsed the book and gift stalls and asked for more details about our regular classes and courses.
A huge thank you to Gen Sherab, to everyone who attended and to all our amazing volunteers for making this event such a joy to attend!

In June, more than 35 people came to the village of Villefranche de Lauragais, 25 km from Toulouse. Gen Kelsang Sangye gave a talk on the theme of How to be happy.
After the talk, very interesting and inspiring discussions took place between Gen Kelsang Sangye and the audience. Meditation sessions will be offered in June and possibly regular teachings in September.
Over 80 people attended a public talk in Rio Tercero, Cordoba, Argentina.
We took away with us not only teachings that touch our hearts, but also teachings that encourage us to carry on contemplating in our everyday life.
Thank you, Geshe-la, for your extraordinary work and may Kadam Dharma flourish throughout the entire world.
