Celebrating Dharma Flourishing in Mexico
May 16, 2025
Over 200 of us gathered last Saturday to listen to the teachings of Buddha, given by our beloved Teacher, Gen Kelsang Nampur, on overcoming the bad times caused by the stubborn selfishness of anxiety.
With enthusiasm, we discovered that respecting others and taking an interest in helping them free themselves from their suffering is the only way to free ourselves.
So, enjoying the beautiful Cuernavaca meditation center, we spent an afternoon focused on virtue, all thanks to the kindness of our dear Guru. Thank you, Geshe-la!

Our Resident Teacher at Vajrapani Kadampa Buddhist Center, Kelsang Shewang, gave a public talk Experience Meditation at the Xalapa Preparatory School, better known as "Prepa Juárez," as it is located on a street of that name.
This is an iconic public educational institution in the city of Xalapa with a long tradition, having been founded in 1843. The talk took place in a beautiful space known as the Paraninfo Auditorium, the assembly hall where important events take place, such as this one, which was dedicated to discussing the value of meditation, especially in the lives of young people.
We would like to thank the entire Prepa Juárez community for the opportunity to share valuable teachings and meditation practices, which we hope everyone has the opportunity to integrate into their daily lives. We hope to return soon to continue spreading this beautiful practice of meditation among the youth of Xalapa.
Thank you to our Administrative Director, Sol, for devising and organizing our 1st Children's Day with lots of help from a very enthusiastic team of students from the Foundation Program.
Simultaneously, in the meditation room, three sessions with Oscar, Lilia and Gen Wangchog, under the care of our Education Program Coordinator, Liz, offered very special moments of great peace and hope to young and old.
New families came as well as families who already attend Dharma for Children and General Program classes. We all enjoyed a few hours where the priority was to cherish others and to welcome and care for them very warmly at this NKT Center, which belongs to them.
Thank you to the attendees and most especially to the tireless organizers who were so attentive, cheerful and happy: a Kadampa family. We plan to offer activities like this again: fun games and warm friendship, and free short meditations on inner peace, patience, gratitude, compassion and love.
Welcome, all you precious boys and girls, and your families too. Together we are planting seeds of peace in the world.
