Ordination Day - Spring Festival 2024

Today the international ordained Kadampa disciples had the precious opportunity to gather together for the Spring Festival ordination ceremony with Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang.

Ten fortunate disciples, from countries around the world, had the great good fortune to newly receive the ordination vows with the assembly of ordained sangha witnessing and also renewing their own vows.

Gen-la Kunsang gave a very clear and heart-felt teaching transmitting essential advice given by Venerable Geshe-la at previous ordination ceremonies. The essence of the ordained way of life is to liberate ourself and others from suffering and to become a true object of refuge for others. To help us to accomplish this Gen-la shared Venerable Geshe-la's encouragement to become a pure Dharma practitioner, with a pure motivation by making a sincere effort to abandon delusions such as attachment, anger, jealousy and ignorance.

She encouraged everyone to feel very close to their Spiritual Father, as they join in with his aim to flourish Kadam Dharma throughout the world, so that everyone can have a peaceful, happy mind and there can be permanent peace in the world.

We dedicated:

"May the Dharma Centres of all knowing Losang Dragpa be filled with hosts of Sanghas and Yogis,
Striving to practice single-pointedly the three pure trainings
And thus may there be the auspiciousness of Buddha's Doctrine remaining for a very long time."

Quote from participant

"That was a lovely ceremony, it was very clear and helped me to understand at a deeper level the meaning of ordination. Coming from that understanding is a feeling that a spiritual life is actually very simple - all we need to do is to work on our mind to abandon our delusions at the same time as we work to flourish Dharma and and the rest will naturally follow."
