Dharma Protector in New Zealand
New Zealand Festival 2024 appeared in Wellington from 16th to 19th January. Practitioners from around New Zealand and some from the UK gathered to receive teachings and empowerment from Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang, the National Spiritual Director of Austria, Switzerland, Italy and South Africa.
This year’s festival featured the empowerment of Dorje Shugden and teachings on Heart Jewel. Over 50 fortunate people received powerful and practical teachings on the complete path to enlightenment and the profound blessings of our most holy Dharma Protector.
Kelsang Lachpa, Resident Teacher for KMC Wellington, led our morning meditations. Birgit Saunders, Resident Teacher of Amitabha KBC, Palmerston North, guided our short retreat at the end of the festival. Gen-la Kunsang’s teachings were direct and powerful and touched our hearts. May we contemplate the meaning and put this holy Dharma into practice.
Our heartfelt thanks go to all the kind Sangha Jewels that helped our precious Festival appear. Most importantly, we thank our most precious Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, for creating these holy gatherings to maintain our special International Kadampa Buddhist Union.
Joyous laughter and meaningful conversations were heard throughout the weekend, including during our surprise fire drill on Monday morning before our final retreat session. Kadampas always happily accept what arises and makes the best of appearances to benefit others.
