Increasing Lifespan, Wisdom, and Merit in South America
In the upcoming weeks, a valuable opportunity will be available to the people of South America. The National Festivals in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile will feature the practice of Buddha Amitayus, the Buddha of Long Life, Wisdom, and Merit led by Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong is the General Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU.
To give people the opportunity to practise the Yoga of Buddha Amitayus, I have prepared this sadhana.
May the merit of this work be a cause for all living beings to find pure peace and happiness.
Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil - 1 - 5 November
The event is held annually at the Temple for World Peace, at the Center for Kadampa Meditation in Brazil (KMC Brazil). This is the largest Kadampa Buddhist Temple in the world. Built according to the designs of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso himself, the Temple is a representation of the Mandala of Buddha Heruka and is dedicated to world peace.
Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina - 10 - 12 November
During this Dharma Festival at KMC Argentina in Buenos Aires, practitioners from all over the country come together to engage in guided meditations, receive the Empowerment of Buddha Amitayus, listen to teachings, and attend prayers.
At this event, Gen-la Dekyong the NKT-IKBU General Spiritual Director will share profound yet accessible teachings based on the Buddha's Sutra and Tantra teachings, in a special presentation of modern Buddhism by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
Festival in Chile - 17 - 19 November
This National Festival will take place in-person at the Kadampa Meditation Center Chile located in Providencia. Everybody welcome to join the Empowerment and teachings led by Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong and meditations on the practice of Buddha Amitayus.
