Celebrating in the Nordic region

At this special event hosted by Kadampa Meditation Center Stockholm Gen-la Thubten granted the empowerment of Buddha Maitreya who is the embodiment of the loving kindness of all the Buddhas and taught methods to develop and increase our loving kindness through developing our wisdom.

"Gen Kelsang Dragpa guided the morning meditations, helping us to start each day with a peaceful mind and a good intention.

"Gen-la Thubten used a wisdom-based approach to explain loving kindness and his clear and profound teachings were deeply appreciated by practitioners from all five Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland) and the Netherlands. With 100 participants on site and online, this Festival was the largest event at KMC Stockholm's beautiful city Temple since the opening in 2020."

"Through receiving the blessings of Buddha Maitreya and learning to stop grasping at the self we normally see, we discovered how we could grow our affectionate love, and feel very close, warm and happy towards all living beings equally. Gen-la Thubten also explained that gentle and regular Dharma practice is the actual path to help us generate this beautiful mind.

"Many participants were at their first ever Festival and people were keen to discuss the teachings with old and new friends alike whilst enjoying a delicious homemade snacks during the breaktimes. The joy of serving others was abundantly clear throughout the weekend with many people happily taking responsibility to ensure the smooth running of the festival."
