On September 20-21, Kadampa students and teachers around the world came together at their centers to honor their Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, who passed into the clear light on September 17.

At Venerable Geshe-la's prior request, at this time we engaged in a special two-day retreat based on the practice of Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche from his Faithful Disciples. 

Through this sublime practice, we understood that though his physical body has dissolved, Venerable Geshe-la remains with us forever as Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka. Many students said that they felt closer to Venerable Geshe-la than ever and understood how to continue to rely upon him and celebrate his life by fulfilling his deepest wishes.
