This weekend the people of Portugal are enjoying the 2020 National Festival both online and, for a fortunate few, at the beautiful Temple at KMC Deuachen in Sintra.

Gen-la Kelsang Thubten is giving the empowerment and teachings on the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden, which are being transmitted from Manjushri KMC. The meditations and retreat are being led by Gen Kelsang Rigden, the Resident Teacher at the Temple in Sintra.

In his introduction Gen-la emphasised four key points:

1. Je Tsongkhapa is an emanation of Buddha Shakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism
2. Je Tsongkhapa clarified the meaning of Buddha Shakyamuni's teachings of Sutra and Tantra, and especially Highest Yoga Tantra, and revealed his Oral Instructions, which are truly the quick path to enlightenment
3. To protect these precious Oral Instructions from degenerating and to preserve them for future generations Je Tsongkhapa emanated the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden
4. We regard our Spiritual Guide as an emanation of Je Tsongkhapa and the same nature as Dorje Shugden
