Your worst enemy might be your greatest teacher — as Atisha proved by cherishing the cook who made his life miserable.
Gen-la Jampa
Gen-la Jampa teaches how to transform unavoidable suffering into spiritual growth. He shares the story of the Indian master Atisha who regarded his rude cook as his most precious companion because he helped him develop patience, explains how acceptance purifies negative karma, and offers practical advice about starting with small annoyances to gradually build unshakable inner peace.

What Authentic Self-Confidence Really Means
It's a little bit like when a tsunami hits that beach, and your bamboo hut is crushed. What we want to do is continually create the internal conditions that enable us to deal with those without feeling overwhelmed.
Build Confidence Nothing Can Destroy
I will conquer all my delusions. They will never conquer me.
Live Like a Spiritual Traveler
When a traveler stays a few nights in a luxurious hotel, he does not develop strong attachment to its comforts because he knows he will soon be moving on.
Why Patience Is True Strength

Wisdom that changes the world
Now is the time to rely on wisdom.
Patience is inner protection
In this extract from a teaching by Gen-la Jampa we learn how our mental reaction to difficulty causes more suffering than the hardship itself.
