Kadampa practitioners from across Brazil recently gathered at KMC Brazil for the 2026 Brazilian Dharma Celebration, receiving the empowerment of Dorje Shugden from National Spiritual Director Gen Kelsang Mudita. Everyone felt renewed inspiration to protect their minds and progress towards enlightenment.
Kadampa practitioners from all over Brazil gathered at KMC Brazil for the Brazilian Dharma Celebration 2026, united in a common aspiration: to transform their own minds and contribute to a better world.
Being among Sangha reminded everyone that no one walks this path alone. We are different people, yet moving in one direction. As Venerable Geshe-la taught, Kadampa Festivals and Celebrations strengthen our Kadampa Buddhist family and help us follow this precious path together.
The Celebration began with an introduction by KMC Brazil's Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Drime, who invited everyone to reflect on the challenging times we are living in and the need to seek real protection for our minds.
In the morning meditation sessions, Marx Xavier reminded practitioners of the great privilege of practicing together and of moving towards supreme happiness.
In the afternoon, Gen Kelsang Mudita, National Spiritual Director of the NKT-IKBU in Brazil, granted the empowerment of Dorje Shugden.
The ceremony felt deeply blessed for all the practitioners gathered at the Temple, bringing fresh inspiration to overcome obstacles and renewing their appreciation of the unique opportunity they share — to free themselves from the suffering of this and countless future lives through the protection of Dorje Shugden.
In the final two days of the Celebration, Gen Geden guided the retreat, focusing on the importance of meditation and the determination to keep the heart-commitments. Practitioners were guided to visualize Dorje Shugden and to generate the firm conviction that he is truly present at all times, protecting them and leading them toward enlightenment.
How extraordinary to be able to rely on such protection, and to know that we have the best method to fulfil our own and others' wishes.
