If we really care and love people, then we’d have no basis to get jealous of them. Because why would we be jealous of them? We care for them, and if we care for people, what does that mean? We want them to be happy.
Real love is a mind that wants others to be happy — full stop. It values them, respects them, and just wants them to be happy. No conditions.
Deep within you is the potential for lasting happiness and freedom from all your problems. The future depends on what you create today.
We don’t choose the situation that we’re facing, but we choose our response. We can choose to let go of our anger and take a different route.
If our mind is peaceful, we’re happy regardless of our external situation… In any situation, it’s how our mind is relating to what’s appearing to it that determines whether we’re miserable or happy.
If something can be remedied, why be unhappy about it? And if there is no remedy for it, there is still no point in being unhappy.
It’s a little bit like when a tsunami hits that beach, and your bamboo hut is crushed. What we want to do is continually create the internal conditions that enable us to deal with those without feeling overwhelmed.
