From a global heart of compassion, offerings, praises, and prostrations to Thousand-armed (Eleven-faced) Avalokiteshvara resounded throughout the world on the second weekend of April. Practitioners worldwide engaged in Nyungnay retreats to develop their good hearts of compassion and wisdom so that, one day, they will be able to alleviate the suffering of our troubled world.
Nyungnay practice is a special purification ritual that is done once a year as a group practice in Kadampa Centers on Buddha’s Enlightenment Day. Many Centers organize a Nyungnay retreat where practitioners celebrate Buddha Shakyamuni’s attainment of enlightenment.
From time to time National Spiritual Directors visit centers in their region to give teachings. Each Buddha is a manifestation of a different aspect of an enlightened mind. They appear in this way to bestow blessings and help living beings with a particular aspect of their spiritual practice. In the past weeks, practitioners in Spain, Nicaragua, the US, and France received blessings to enhance their purification, healing, compassion, and wisdom practices.Â
Seven back-to-back public talks were given in Germany this February. Sangha from Tara KMC in Leipzig, KMC Dresden, KMC Munich, KMC Stuttgart, KMC Freiburg, KMC Karlsruhe, and KMC Berlin applied great effort in organizing and publicizing a tour with the National Spiritual Director of Germany, Slovenia, Romania & Czech Republic, Gen Kelsang Ananda.
