Then Gen-la Jampa&#8217;s shares illuminating and inspiring teachings given by Venerable Geshe-la in 1994 on the meaning of going for refuge. How in reality everyone is seeking refuge, longing for freedom from physical suffering and mental pain, but they mainly seek refuge in the wrong places, or in very temporary solutions. As a result although human technology is always increasing our world is in reality becoming more dangerous.<\/p>\n<p>The conclusion is that we need to find refuge from a different source, in particular by gaining actual Dharma realisations, which are stable and unmistaken experiences of virtuous objects that directly protect us from suffering. Such as the inner realisations of patience, contentment, compassion and wisdom. These destroy the main cause of suffering which is our own un-peaceful, deluded minds.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tREFUGE: the gateway through which we enter Buddhism\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kadampa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SUMMER-F-25-MILOB-D2-022.jpg\" alt=\"SUMMER F 25 - MILOB- D2 -022\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"1282\" width=\"1920\" title=\"SUMMER F 25 - MILOB- D2 -022\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading='lazy' \/>\n\t<p>Going for refuge is the root of the spiritual path, the gateway through which we enter Buddhism and the foundation for gaining all other spiritual realisations.<\/p>\n<p>Understanding this in the afternoon session we make extensive offerings to Buddha Shakyamuni and recite many beautiful prayers before being guided through the refuge vows by Gen-la Jampa.<\/p>\n<p>Finally we dedicate this vast collection of merit to the flourishing of these teachings for the ultimate benefit of all living beings, so everyone has an opportunity to find real refuge from within and be released from suffering.\u00a0 With a compassionate motivation we intend the karma we have created on this extraordinary day so that all the problems of the world can cease and there can be an abiding peace in the world.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kadampa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SUMMER-F-25-MILOB-D2-058.jpg\" alt=\"SUMMER F 25 -
