The village Törbel is situated on a sunny hill in the canton Valais, altitude 1500 m
A typical old mountain village of Valais like Törbel with its
sun-tanned houses and narrow alleys is seldom found nowadays
And this is it: the future Kailash International Retreat Centre
Another view of our new Retreat Centre with its original slated-roof
The natural way of cutting grass
(From time to time in the spring some cows will make sure that the grass won’t be too high before they leave for the high alpine pastures in the summer.)
View from the terrace direction Mattertal home of Zermatt and Matterhorn which is approx. 30 km away.
The future meditation hall with many windows and floor-heating
The dining room is quite old fashioned and here some renovation work including replacing the windows is needed.
Many rooms have their own balcony and some of them have a beautiful view to the valley (see photo no. 6).
The windows are new but the rest is waiting to be removed by some strong people.
One of the shared bathrooms
At this point the kitchen can only be visualized
Many walks around the village and into the mountains and high alpine moors are possible
