We have a new Resident Teacher at KMC Florida! Gen Demo, a native of Seattle, has come to Sarasota from Vajradhara Meditation Center in Brooklyn, NY.

And we love having our very first nun in residence —- seen here in the kitchen with fellow resident, Doris Christie.

Gen Demo has hit the ground running, bringing lots of energy, warmth and fun to our Center. Here she is doing some planning with Board President, Sandy Tracey.

With Gen Demo in residence, we have lots of pujas every week.

And she inspired our lovely, new bookstore. (We like Ikea!)

On September 6, we had a day course entitled, Rejoicing in Good Fortune — and by lunch, we certainly were.

During the summer, KMC Florida got two new, sunny, spacious bedrooms. They were constructed in the former sitting room / book store space. Here is EPC-in-training, Cameron Langford, in his new room.

KMC Florida was very fortunate to have had the generous assistance of Bernard Carlton from Portland, Oregon (Mahasiddha Buddhist Center). Bernard kindly volunteered to come to Sarasota to oversee our construction project. Thank you, Bernard. We love you!

The bedrooms are insulated and have solid wood doors to keep them as quiet as possible.

Everyone who comes in the door is greeted by our beautiful Buddha, seated behind the reception desk. Over his shoulder is our lovely, private backyard.
