Receiving the Heart Teachings

It is not possible to describe in words the extraordinary good fortune of over three thousand people who attended the 2006 NKT Summer Festival at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre in the English Lake District.

They received from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso the uncommon empowerments of Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka and Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden, followed by the first part of the transmission of Tantric Mahamudra from the Ganden Oral Lineage.

Geshe-la taught how to recognize our own samsara as being our contaminated life - a life completely controlled by delusions, especially the ignorance of self-grasping.

To escape from samsara we need to change our basis of imputation from contaminated aggregates of body and mind to uncontaminated aggregates of body and mind - and the only way to do this is by relying upon Buddha's Tantric teachings, especially Mahamudra Tantra.

Geshe-la will continue the transmission of these teachings at the 2007 Summer Festival in England.

Geshe-la, from the depths of our hearts we thank you for these sublime teachings. May all living beings have the good fortune to meet this holy Dharma.
