The first stage was to do test drilling to check the ground on which it was planned to build the Temple.
The engineers bored 12 meters in various places.
Information from the samples was used in planning the foundation structure of the Temple.
Then markers were used to demarcate the areas requiring excavation.

By the end of the second day the excavations were well advanced . . .
. . . the original markers remaining only as witnesses of the incredible transformation.
Thousands of tons of earth were removed to level the ground for the Temple.
