At KMC Germany we walked happily into the New Year …

and enjoyed some wonderful days …

with grounds and buildings beautifully transformed by the snow

Inside the building, preparations for our three week long working retreat were made

Many kind helpers came from different German centres, so a big shopping trip was necessary – at times we were over 30 people!

The main project was to finish painting the inside of the windows

Roma and her diligent crew painted 130 windows in three weeks

and we realised how much can be accomplished when dedicated people work joyfully together!

Another big job was stripping the paint off the ground floor ceiling

During hours of hard work our Bodhisattva warriors …

removed the old paint put on during the GDR era …

revealing the original stuccoed ceiling that now awaits its new colour

A third project undertaken was the renovation of our new cafe – Steffi from Halle scraped off old paint …

and Peter from the UK tirelessly and joyfully did some final scraping and sanding too

Micha applied the final paint …

so our cafe is … well, not quite finished yet, but you can get an impression of what it’ll be like!

Another crew under Erich’s guidance – here preparing the Vajrayogini Gompa …

resurfaced the floors – and this is the the radiant outcome

Exhausted from the hard work …

we deeply appreciated Jetsun’s yummy food, recovered our strength …

and enjoyed the break with our Sangha friends – a great deal was accomplished in such a short time!

On our free day we went for walks

enjoyed the woods

and the peacefulness in the Gompa – how wonderful to have a free day at KMC Germany!

Our EPC is happy that we are finally connected to the wider world

via Satellite Internet connection!

After two days of cleaning our working retreat is over …

and we happily welcome the first warm …

and sunny days …

with pure white light streaming in
