The last few months have been filled with change…

First Gen Samten finished his three year retreat and left his meditation hut to take up residence as the new teacher for KMC New York,

our chef Paul left to live closer to his students in Dundee,

and Yangdon, after six and a half years at Tharpaland looking after retreaters left to become EPC at Manjushri KMC

Then the snow arrived…

and stayed…

for longer than usual…

covering Tharpaland in a blanket of snow,

which meant that when the weekend of the Scottish Dharma Celebration arrived,

we had to walk down the track to get there!

The snow was perfect for our early FP Christmas party

Jill played Santa,

and we enjoyed some special time together

The weather didn’t stop our winter preparations for the Snows Retreat

Sam came for a weekend of tree surgery,

caring for the trees that grow near the retreaters huts

Shri helped clear the fallen branches and kept an eye on Sam…

til she was safely back on the ground…

Just in time for a beautiful winter sunset

Meanwhile it finally rained, meaning our winter coal and gas deliveries could arrive…

together with the new foodstore…

carefully placed between plum trees…

Watched by Shri and Venerable Tharchin

Our Vajrasattva retreaters also managed to make it up the track

and we had a very meaningful week of purification

using the blissful practice of Vajrasattva

Everyone seemed very happy

and enjoyed the retreat…

and as we said goodbye to these retreaters

we begin our preparations in earnest for the Snows Retreat starting in a few days time
