week 1 in retrospect

As we reach the halfway point in the Festival, everyone takes a free day to rest and explore the local area. This is a good opportunity to look back over the first week and savour the extraordinary teachings and meditations - and the sheer joy of gathering as an international family. Day 1 ~ Introduction

The 2022 International Summer Festival opened last night with an introductory teaching by Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang, retired Deputy Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU.

Day 2 ~ Empowerment

July 31, 2022

Yesterday we had the great good fortune to receive the empowerment of Buddha Shakyamuni from Gen-la Khyrerab, retired General Spiritual Director.

Day 3 ~ Clear light of bliss

August 1, 2022

Yesterday began with what we had all been waiting for – the teachings and transmission of Clear Light of Bliss!

Day 4 ~ 25 years at the mother temple!

August 2, 2022

Today, August 2, twenty-five years ago Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche opened and blessed the first Kadampa Temple for World Peace at Manjushri KMC.

Day 5 ~ TIME FOR RETREAT

August 3, 2022

After six blissful teachings from Gen-la Khyenrab of the first part of Clear Light of Bliss, today we entered into two days of retreat with Kadam Morten Clausen

Day 6 ~ Worldwide Community

August 4, 2022

As we enter the second day of retreat and bring the first week of the Festival to a close, it is a good time to reflect on the international nature of the community of people gathered at Manjushri KMC.
