The second South African Dharma Celebration took place in the beautiful surroundings of the Vineyard Hotel in Cape Town over the weekend of 28 – 30 November.
Eighty people gathered mainly from the three Centres in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg and everyone greatly enjoyed Gen-la Khyenrab’s wonderfully lucid teachings on the ‘Heart of Compassion’ which emphasized training in conventional and ultimate Bodhichitta – the supreme good heart – and based on Venerable Geshe-la’s teachings on Universal Compassion from the NKT International Summer Festival (UK).
One Sangha member, Felicien, traveled all the way by bus from the Congo!
Gen Pagpa, the Resident Teacher of Tushita Centre in Cape Town, guided meditations on equalizing self and others and taking and giving.
The Wishfulling Jewel tsog pujas were held at the recently opened Tushita Centre and the people were overflowing into the garden.
It was a joyous occasion for the growing South African Sangha and a powerful example of the importance of coming together as often as possible in order to inspire and support each other in our practice.
Thank you Gen-la for coming all the way to the tip of Africa to share with us the sublime nectar of holy Dharma.
