The second Nordic Dharma Celebration took place on the 18th to the 22nd of April 2008 in Stockholm, Sweden. The event was held at a peaceful retreat centre just outside the capital, in the beautiful archipelago landscape of water and woodland. Gen Ananda granted the blessing empowerment of Arya Tara, gave teachings on wisdom and compassion and guided a two-day Tara retreat.
The Celebration was attended by around 30 people from the Nordic countries of Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland, as well as some from England, Ireland and Germany. Everyone who came enjoyed the happy and relaxed atmosphere and were especially inspired by Gen Ananda’s clear and joyful teachings. Even the weather played its part and we were able to enjoy four days of uninterrupted sunshine. For Sweden in April, this is quite amazing!
The event was a much appreciated opportunity for the Nordic Sangha family to come together for a meaningful holiday of Dharma teachings, meditations and relaxation.
All the proceeds from this special event were donated to the NKT-IKBU International Temples Project Nordic Region – the building of the first Kadampa Temple in a Nordic country.
