Over the New Year period 200 Kadampa Buddhists from Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific gathered for the annual Australasian Festival at KMC Australia in Melbourne. We knew we were in for an extraordinary Festival when Gen-la Khyenrab began with an introduction to the union of conventional and ultimate truths!

Together, we welcomed 2009 with melodious chanting to Arya Tara over midnight. And, our first activity in 2009 was to receive Je Tsongkhapa and Dorje Shugden empowerments from Gen-la Khyenrab —- what an auspicious start to the year!

The Festival was an inspiring and joyful time in which old friendships were strengthened and new ones were forged. As our Kadampa family in Australasia grows, we welcome these opportunities to gather together to delight in Holy Kadam Dharma.
