Building for World Peace
This DVD is the story of the dedicated international team who have transformed a run-down chateau in the French countryside into an oasis of spiritual peace. We join them at the final stage of their extraordinary endeavour when they are blessed by a visit from their spiritual guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso (Geshe-la)
“It is not an ordinary castle, it is a palace someone prepared for you. Now this is the basic foundation for the future of Kadam dharma throughout France and throughout the world…” (Geshe-la)
It contains unseen footage of Geshe-la’s visit; including a blessing ceremony and a teaching. It is playable across all regions and offers subtitles in six languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Chinese & English).
Copies will be available on our web site at www.tharpa.com from 5th January, priced at £7.95. To pre-order your copy please call Tharpa Publications directly on 01229 588599.
Three Dharma Celebrations
Dharma Celebrations are special spiritual holidays during which we have the precious opportunity to listen to teachings, receive empowerment, practise meditation, and meet with likeminded spiritual friends. Take 5 minutes of your time to sit back and rejoice in the activities of our international Sangha as they join together at the Scottish, South African and Spanish Dharma Celebrations.
South African DC 2008
The second South African Dharma Celebration took place in the beautiful surroundings of the Vineyard Hotel in Cape Town over the weekend of 28 – 30 November.
Eighty people gathered mainly from the three Centres in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg and everyone greatly enjoyed Gen-la Khyenrab’s wonderfully lucid teachings on the ‘Heart of Compassion’ which emphasized training in conventional and ultimate Bodhichitta – the supreme good heart – and based on Venerable Geshe-la’s teachings on Universal Compassion from the NKT International Summer Festival (UK).
One Sangha member, Felicien, traveled all the way by bus from the Congo!
Gen Pagpa, the Resident Teacher of Tushita Centre in Cape Town, guided meditations on equalizing self and others and taking and giving.
The Wishfulling Jewel tsog pujas were held at the recently opened Tushita Centre and the people were overflowing into the garden.
It was a joyous occasion for the growing South African Sangha and a powerful example of the importance of coming together as often as possible in order to inspire and support each other in our practice.
Thank you Gen-la for coming all the way to the tip of Africa to share with us the sublime nectar of holy Dharma.
