Friday 26th of July was the beginning of the 22nd annual NKT-IKBU Summer Festival at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre (Manjushri KMC) in the UK.
Around 2,500 people will gather to enjoy these two weeks where they will receive teachings, enjoy time to contemplate the meaning of these teachings and have many opportunities to engage in meditations on the teachings guided by qualified Kadampa teachers. We can also enjoy spiritual friendship, relaxation, and the beautiful environment of the English Lake District.
Buddha appeared in this world to fulfill his compassionate wish to benefit each and every living being every day. Accordingly he demonstrated the manner of attaining enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya.
After attaining enlightenment, Buddha remained absorbed in meditative equipoise, but although a living Buddha was now present in our world human beings were unaware of what had taken place.
Please enjoy the diaries and share them with your friends and family
The occasion is marked by special events and by pujas and dedications at Kadampa centers worldwide.
Prayers are made for the flourishing of Kadam Dharma throughout the world so that all living beings might quickly find permanent inner peace.
Above all, we remember the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang in founding NKT-IKBU and pray for him to remain with us for a very long time.
Please enjoy this video teaching.
