Empowerment day! A palpable feeling of anticipation and excitement pervades the dining marquee as people gather for breakfast. The sun is shining and the birdsong in the woods provides a perfect background to the animated conversations.
The 2014 NKT International Spring Festival begins today. 1,500 people have converged on Manjushri KMC in the English Lake District, travelling from as far afield as Singapore, Perth, and San Francisco. The English weather is notoriously changeable, but gorgeous sunshine is greeting new arrivals today. The many first-time visitors are enchanted by the awe-inspiring Temple and Priory, and everyone is put at ease by the warm and joyful atmosphere.
Spring Festival 2014 started on Friday. You can keep up-to-date with the latest photos, quotes and videos live from the Festival. Simply follow the official NKT Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or Google+ channels.
You can also share your own photos & inspiration from, or about, the Festival by including the hashtag #KadampaSpring2014 in your social media posts.
We hope you enjoy and share this special spiritual holiday.
Only one month to go to the start of our 20th annual International Spring Festival – a wonderful opportunity to experience modern Buddhism in action at an international level, and to enjoy an inspiring and meaningful spiritual holiday at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre, the mother centre of the New Kadampa Tradition and home to the first Kadampa Temple for World Peace.
The occasion is marked by special events and by pujas and dedications at Kadampa centers worldwide.
Prayers are made for the flourishing of Kadam Dharma throughout the world so that all living beings might quickly find permanent inner peace.
Above all, we remember the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang in founding NKT-IKBU and pray for him to remain with us for a very long time.
